What "how old am I" really asks
"How old am I?" sounds like it has a one-number answer, but your exact age is a moving figure with several correct forms. The calculator above gives you all of them at once: your current age in completed years (the number official forms want), the precise years-months-days breakdown, and your age expressed in total days and hours โ computed from your date of birth against today's date, with every leap year accounted for.
Why you can't just subtract years
The mental shortcut โ current year minus birth year โ is only right after your birthday has passed. Born in November 1995 and asking in July 2026? Subtraction says 31, but your true current age is 30 until November arrives. This calculator checks your actual birth date against today's date, so the answer is always the legally correct one. The full method is explained in How Age is Calculated.
What is my exact age right now?
Your exact age is the complete elapsed time since birth: something like "30 years, 8 months, 14 days." Between birthdays, the months and days keep moving while the years figure holds still โ which is why two people who are both "30" can be almost a full year apart in real age. If you need your age at a date other than today (an application cutoff, a past event), use the full age calculator, which has an "Age at Date" field.
How old am I in Korean age?
Different question, different number! In the traditional Korean system you're born at age 1 and gain a year every 1 January โ making your Korean age one or two years higher than the international age shown above. Get both numbers side by side with the Korean Age Calculator, or read how the system works in Age Around the World.
